On an LM P2 prototype now known as Gibson 015S, Portuguese Philip Albuquerque will begin its second season in ELMS within the training JOTA Sport, with the declared objective of the title, lost by four points last year against the trio of Signatech-Alpine. He will be assisted by the British Simon Dolan and a third driver who remains to be confirmed, following the departure of the Briton Harry tincknell for the LM P1 Nissan program.
“The championship is becoming more and more competitive, and 2015 will be even tougher, because the teams are clearly raising the level, recalls the 29-year-old pilot. But I am sure that on our side we will be stronger. Racing in ELMS last year was perfect and it helped me find a faster pace for my LM P1 program. I learned a lot of things, especially regarding track traffic. »
Albuquerque will evolve as in 2014 on two fronts. In addition to the ELMS, it will find the seat of the third Audi R18 e-tron quattro aligned by the brand with the rings at Spa (May 2) and 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 13-14) where he will be engaged with René Rast and Marco Bonanomi. JOTA Sport is also looking for a driver to replace Albuquerque on both occasions.
