Six races will be on the program for the 2016 European Le Mans Series, with the main novelty being the arrival of Spa on the calendar.

ELMS – The 2016 calendar revealed

While theELMS 2015 took possession of the Castellet route in the Var this weekend, the organizers revealed the 2016 version calendar of the European endurance series. A sixth race will strengthen the program, and will be contested on the Belgian route of Spa-Francorchamps the weekend of September 23 to 25.

The season will open again in England at Silverstone on April 15 and 16 on the sidelines of the World ChampionshipEndurance WEC, before going to Imola in Italy (May 13-15) then to Austria (July 15-17). Paul Ricard will be on the menu again but postponed to the end of August (26-28) while Estoril in Portugal will still serve as the closing round from October 21 to 23.

The ELMS will also host support races the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 for all events from Red Bull Ring, while the Renault RS 01 Trophy will also strengthen the field in these same events, plus that of Imola.

The weekends will mainly be structured around three days with a 90′ test session scheduled for Friday, another scheduled for Saturday before qualifying of 20′ for the LM P and 20′ for the GT categories, then the race contested on Sunday over a duration of four hours.

The official presentation of the teams will be held during the Prologue on March 29 and 30
