ELMS – PB Compétition aims for an entry of 2 Ligier JS P217s

The Panis-Barthez Compétition has revealed its plans for the 2017 season. The French team which finished 8th in the first category of theELMS in 2016 hopes to enter two Ligier JS P217s in the European Endurance Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“We are in the process of finalizing our 2017 program and are doing everything to bring together the financial and sporting parameters which would allow us to have two LMP2 cars on track in the ELMS and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans”, explained Olivier Panis at the head of the tricolor structure.

Fabien Barthez and Timothé Buret are the first drivers confirmed for this year. The two drivers played last year with Paul-Loup Chatin.

“We strongly hope and work daily to study the economic aspects of having a second car in LMP2 with an experienced driver who would bring his high-level experience to allow young drivers to progress alongside him. We do not lose sight of the DNA of the team which consists of helping them evolve and develop their career within our team”, commented the team's boss-driver.

Panis-Barthez Compétition, however, did not mention LMP3 where it entered a Ligier JS P3 last year.
