ELMS – Ragues to discover the Red Bull Ring with Alpine

After securing its first podium of the season at the 3 Hours of Imola, Signatech-Alpine experienced a difficult ordeal 24 Hours of Le Mans by only landing eighth place in the category, 14th in the general classification (provisional result with the call from G-Drive Racing). A month after facing the double clock tower at Sarthe, the drivers of the No. 450 A36 are preparing to compete in the third round of the season this weekend ELMS au Red Bull ring.

Pierre Ragues prepared like most drivers to discover the 4,326km Spielberg track which will be used for the first time in the discipline. “It will be a good test of our ability to learn a new circuit quickly but I am confident in our package and hope we can fight for a podium or even victory, comments the Caennais. We must carry out good test sessions to learn the circuit and above all find the best set-up for the Signatech-Alpine A450 with our Michelin tires. I am happy to have been able to work with the Ellip6 simulation specialists who were of great help in preparing for the race this weekend. »

Although the French team did not achieve the expected result at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Le Mans event provided the team with important knowledge about the behavior of the car and the Michelin tires. This experience could be an important help for the rest of the Championship. “Le Mans is always an unmissable event because it is very complicated and very intense. We have really made progress with the car in difficult conditions and improved every part of our working methods, assures Pierre Ragues who will once again drive the No. 36 alongside Nelson Panciatici. I think we arrive in Austria more confident in ourselves and with the car and the tires, so I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve this weekend. I hope we can maintain our second place in the Championship (ten points behind Thiriet by TDS Racing), which is so important for Signatech-Alpine and for my partner, Group Auto, who continues to provide me with such valuable support. »
