ELMS – SMP Racing wins the 4h of Le Castellet

Matevos Isakyaan and Egor Orudzhev achieved a great success by winning the 4 Hours of Castellet (Var) at the wheel of the Dallara P217 from SMP Racing from their second departure in ELMS. The Russian rookies dominated the event, taking advantage of a Full Course Yellow to take control of the race by choosing to stay on the track. The two-driver crew gives Dallara and SMP Racing their first success in the premier class of the European Championship.Endurance.

The No. 07 Oreca 22 from G-Drive Racing entrusted to Léo Roussel, Nicolas Minassian and Memo Rojas was the closest to the winners, even if the second LMP2 from Dragonspeed finished more than a minute behind the winners. The fight for the title remains tight as United Autosports placed its Ligier JS P217 of Filipe Albuquerque, Hugo de Sadeleer and Will Owen on the last step of the podium after completing a comeback race following a spin by the Swiss in start of the event which was hit by the Dallara Cetilar Villorba Corse of Andrea Belicchi.

United Autosports was more successful on the LMP3 side with a new victory for the No. 3 Ligier JS P2 of John Falb and Sean Rayhall at the head of the Championship, ahead of the No. 13 Inter Europol Competition of Jakub Smiechowski and Martin Hippe and the n°11 by Marco Jacoboni, Davide Uboldi and Giorgio Mondini.
