ELMS – Thiriet by TDS Racing like in Imola

Oliver Turvey started from pole for the third consecutive time on the Jota Sport Zytek and took advantage of the battle in the peloton to quickly create a solid lead. But the #38 would see its hopes of victory disappear following a 30-second stop & go inflicted for excessive speed in the pits. Jonathan Hirschi was able to take the lead, but a starter problem caused the Murphy Prototypes Oreca 19 to lose no less than 03 laps. Mathias Beche thus found himself in the lead and finished his stint half a minute ahead of theAlpine from Pierre Ragues who took advantage of excellent stops to move up the positions. Boutsen Ginion Racing abandoned following contact with a Ferrari damaging the transmission. Dominik Kraihamer had however put up a good fight at the start of the race against theAlpine.

Pierre Thiriet managed to maintain a good lead at the wheel of the Oreca 03 from the eponymous team, which won its second consecutive victory ahead of Alpine and increases its lead in the Championship. The podium is completed by the Morand Racing Morgan of Franck Mailleux and Natacha Gachnang, which offers the same top three as at Imola. Despite a collision at the very start of his stint, Simon Dolan arrived in fourth place with the Zytek which started from pole, while the Race Performance Oreca 03-Judd led by Michel Frey and Patric Niederhauser.

After an excellent stint from Soheil Ayari in the No. 09 FLM49, Gary Hirsch managed to maintain the advantage over the No. 47 of Verdonck-Loan to achieve a second consecutive success. Ram Racing places its two Ferraris on the GTE podium, with the no.52 of Mowlem-Griffin also securing a second consecutive success by winning ahead of the no.66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari of de Bertolini-Camathias and sister car no. °53 from Jeannette-Montecalvo. Finally, the winners are also identical in GTC since the No. 69 of SMP Racing driven by Babini-Shaitar-Ladygin also won at Imola.

In the Championship, Thiriet by TDS Racing is taking off, now 17 points ahead of Alpine. The Race Performance and the Jota Sport are 25 lengths behind.
