ELMS – A first for the Team Endurance Challenge

This will be a first for the Team Endurance Challenge. This new formula “turnkey” set up by Oreca in the off-season will make its first appearance in competition at Silverstone as part of the opening round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS). Three Oreca-FLM 09s will be entered in the Le Mans Prototype Challenge (LM PC) category and will allow five drivers to compete in their first race in the seat of a prototype. While the cars will be supported by Oreca, the drivers will also be supported by Nicolas Minassian, the team's sponsor. After positive tests two weeks ago on the Paul Ricard circuit, the six members of the Team Endurance Challenge will have their sights set on victory in the LM PC championship which will offer the winners an invitation to LM P2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2014!

“With the Team Endurance Challenge, we wanted to offer an “all-inclusive” solution. giving drivers the opportunity to discover the highest level of Endurance” recalls Hugues de Chaunac, the boss of Oreca. “The pilot profiles confirm that this concept fits many pilots. A prototype driver's first race is always a special moment and this is all the more true when it takes place in a motorsport temple such as Silverstone. With Nicolas Minassian as godfather and Soheil Ayari as road captain, the team relies on two very experienced men. The car also proved its qualities. It is a solid package which will allow young drivers to reveal themselves and gentlemen drivers to sharpen their weapons before a future participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is up to them to seize this opportunity! », he concludes. As a reminder, car No. 47 will be entrusted to Andorran driver Alex Loan and Matthieu Lecuyer. The No. 48 will be driven by Soheil Ayari, an Endurance regular, and Anthony Pons. Finally, the No. 49 will be in the hands of Paul Loup Chatin and the Swiss Gary Hirsch. The start of the event, contested over a period of three hours, will be given on Saturday at 15 p.m.
