United Autosports maintains the entry of two LMP3s during the next season of theELMS in 2016 but Zack Brown's team preferred the Ligier JS P3 after initially choosing the Ginetta-Nissan. The team justified its decision “to focus on long-term business objectives”, aiming for future commitment to 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category, and highlighting that Ligier has been selected as LMP2 manufacturer from 2017.
“It was the best choice to make for the team. Our ultimate goal is to be at Le Mans and Ligier's position as an LMP2 manufacturer from 2017 made this change completely logical.", commented Zak Brown.
United Autosports said it will continue to support Ginetta with its Team LNT team by providing assistance with logistics, personnel and equipment.
