G-Drive untouchable at the 4 Hours of Monza

Last weekend, G-Drive Racing made the trip to the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, second round of the WEC, with the aim of preparing the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In fact, the Russian entity will not participate in the entire season, and therefore did not score any points, since this year it favored theELMS. But Andrea Pizzitola, Jean-Eric Vergne and Roman Rusinov still won. Today, the Franco-Russian trio did it again at the 4 Hours of Monza, second round of the European series. Enough to register as the big favorite for LM P2 in Sarthe.

At the end of a race interrupted on various occasions by several accidents, the No. 07 Oreca 26 took the checkered flag with a lead of 29"8 over another Oreca 07, namely the No. 33 of the TDS Racing led by François Perrodo, Loïc duval and Matthieu Vaxivière, who took pole position yesterday before having it taken away after technical checks. A crew which, once again, performed wonders, and which had already finished second in the 4 Hours of Paul Ricard in mid-April. Xavier Combet's team therefore signed the double in Italy, since it is the team which ensures the operation of the victorious car.

In the championship, the Olivier Pla-Paul Petit-Norman Nato (Racing Engineering) trio having been unable to do better than fifth, they fell to third place, two points behind the Pizzitola-Rusinov pair (Vergne was not present at Castellet ), who takes the reins of the general classification. But she only has a small point more than Duval-Perrodo-Vaxivière.

On the third step of the podium today, we find the 07 n°28 entered by IDEC Sport for Paul Loup Chatin-Paul Lafargue-Memo Rojas. On a fast circuit, Oreca stormed by monopolizing the top 7.

In LM P3 the victory went to G. Mondi-K. Van Berlo (No. 3 Eurotinternational Ligier JS P11), who took a lap on the rest of the peloton, led by T. Woodward-R. Kaiser-J. Swift (Ligier JS P3 n°6 of 360 Racing) and A. Wells-G. Grist-M. Bell (Ligier JS P3 n°3 of United Autosports). The prototypes designed by Onroak Automotive took the first six places, the first Norma M30, that of Ultimate entrusted to Mr. Lahaye-JB Lahaye-F. Hériau, having finished seventh after taking pole yesterday.

Finally, in GTLM, Spirit of Race signs its first victory this season thanks to the Ferrari 488 GTE n°55 du trio Aaron Scott-Duncan Cameron-Matt Griffin, qui précède sous le damier deux Porsche 911 RSR, à savoir la n°77 de Proton Competition au volant de laquelle le revenant Marc Lieb épaulait Marvin Dienst et Christian Ried et la n°80 d’Ebimotors de Raymond Narac-Fabio Babini-Riccardo Pera.

24 Hours of Le Mans obliges, the next round of the ELMS is scheduled in more than two months, on July 22 exactly, on the Austrian circuit of Red Bull ring.
