IDEC Sport opens its counter at Silverstone
It was in Silverstone (Great Britain) that the IDEC Sport team won its very first European race. Le Mans Series (ELMS). The structure founded in 2015 won the winner's trophy after four hours of effort with the crew made up of Memo Rojas, Paul-Loup Chatin and Paul Lafargue.
Everything changed just a few minutes before the end, when the Aurus 01 of Jean-Éric Vergne, Job van Uitert and Roman Rusinov had to rush through the pits for a quick refueling. IDEC Sport's Oreca 07 took the opportunity to take the lead.
The third step on the podium was occupied by another Oreca, that of Graff driven by Tristan Gommendy, Alexandre Cougnaud and Jonathan Hirschi. The polemen Hedman-Hanley-Allen (DragonSpeed Oreca) are satisfied with the fourth final position.
The paddock shook during the high-speed accident of Mike Guasch (Ligier). Taken to hospital for a broken rib, the gentleman driver of the United Autosports team has since been released from treatment.
The LM GTE category was the subject of an intense fight. Success came to the Porsche 911 RSR by Tomas Preining, Gianluca Giraudi and Ricardo Sanchez (Proton Competition). There Ferrari 488 entrusted to the female trio Michelle Gatting, Manuela Gostner and Rahel Frey finished for the second time this season on the podium (second) while the other Ferrari from Kessel Racing (Pianezzola-Cadei-Piccini) finished just behind.
