IDEC Sport puts its title back on the line

Sacred brilliantly in ELMS last year thanks to its trio Paul-Loup Chatin / Paul Lafargue / Memo Rojas, the French team sets out again this year to conquer a second title with an Oreca 07.

But Rojas having joined DragonSpeed by mutual agreement between the two parties, the troops brooded by Patrice Lafargue, Frédéric Ducastel and Nicolas Minassian – respectively owner, director and sporting director – had to find a replacement for the Mexican.

Their sights fell on the experienced Briton Richard Bradley, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2015 in LM P2, credited with four starts in Sarthe, three seasons in WEC and as much in ELMS. A crew of choice which should play at the forefront, in the European series just like in mid-June.

IDEC Sport, however, will only enter one LM P2. Aware that the category is – alas! – more accessible to bronze drivers, Patrice Lafargue and William Cavailhes move to LM P3, with a third driver who remains to be appointed.

Finally, a request for entry in LM P2 was submitted for the Le Mans classic, the idea being to have two cars at the start. As a reminder, the team already has an automatic invitation following its ELMS title.
