Jack Aitken still preserved a little suspense in European Le Mans Series. While Louis Delétraz held the pole position synonymous with the title for the Prema team, the Briton emerged in the very last moments of the qualifying session to set the fastest lap and thus put Racing Team Turkey in first place for the race on Sunday.

" They (Prema. Editor’s note) have had enough fun this year, they must learn to share, joked Jack aitken Saturday after qualifying. We wanted to take pole position overall since the start of the season. The car has been very good since the weekend. We just need to finish the race tomorrow to be LM P2 Pro-Am champions, but our goals are higher. We had a very good season avoiding problems while making the right choices. We will therefore keep the same approach for this race. »

Jack Aitken himself was surprised to have achieved such a lap on the Portuguese track. “The track wasn't as fast as I expected and the grip wasn't great. So I did the best lap I could and I was slightly surprised to be on pole, because I struggled with the car on track. »

Meet at 14:00 p.m. French time for the start of the 4 Hours of Portimão, the final round of the 2022 season of theELMS.
