Katherine Legge injured and taken to hospital

An accident involved Katherine Legge during the first official practice session of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) on the Paul-Ricard circuit (Var) this Wednesday July 15. At 11:39 a.m., the Oreca 07 driven by the 40-year-old Briton left the track at the Signes curve.

The session had to be interrupted at the red flag, time for the medical team to intervene on site and extract the driver. After passing through the Var route medical center, Katherine Legge, who never lost consciousness, was evacuated by Samu 83 helicopter to Sainte Anne hospital in Toulon.

The first health report, established by the circuit's chief doctor, “reported that Katherine Legge suffered a left tibia-fibula fracture as well as a right wrist fracture. His vital prognosis is absolutely not compromised. »

The Oreca 07 entered by Richard Mille Racing was to compete in the 4 Hours of Le Castellet with a female crew led by Katherine Legge and Tatiana Calderon.
