The Oreca 01 hits the track!

The first chassis designed and assembled 100% by Hugues de Chaunac's firm, the Oreca 01 rolled on Monday for the first time on the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit.

This new car ?made in Signes? retains the now well-tested Courage-Oreca monohull.

Nicolas lapierre had the honor of taking him through his first laps: “Behind the wheel, you can feel the progress made thanks to the new aero, particularly in the ?medium-fast? corners. We were able to rack up the miles and get a glimpse of the potential. We are now impatient to use it in racing! »

Olivier Panis took over: “The new car immediately gives confidence. The feeling was good from the first laps. The general balance is better, with a clear gain in grip. »

The ORECA-Matmut-AIM Team continues testing this week, before preparing to reach Spa-Francorchamps for the 1000 Km which will start on May 10. With two Oreca 01s on the grid…
