Laurent Groppi, final race in Saleen

“We have really optimized our championship
, then said Laurent Groppi at the finish of the second of the Magny-Cours race. I think we haven't made any mistakes this year and the Larbre, Bornhauser, Groppi association is working very well. »

So good that the trio will meet one last time this season, for the final round of the ILMC. Laurent Groppi will indeed support his compatriot Patrick Bornhauser and the Portuguese Pedro Lamy on the Saleen S7 R entered by Jack Leconte in China. The 2006 French Formula champion Renault 2.0 will find for the occasion a car that he knows well. At the wheel, the Frenchman has in fact twice finished vice-champion of France GT in 2007 with Oreca, and in 2009, already with Larbre Compétition and Patrick Bornhauser. During his Saleen-Oreca epic, Laurent Groppi also participated in 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Le Mans Series.

?It?s really a joy for me to take part in my first international race this year. We can play for the ILMC 2010 Champions title so the desire is great, admits the 27-year-old pilot. With Patrick and Pedro, I think we will form a very competitive trio and for my part, I know in advance that I will have fun driving the Saleen S7R! After a very good end of the season with the Porsche 911 GT3 R, I am happy to be reunited with the beautiful American with whom I have good memories. »

A beautiful American whose Chinese meeting at the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup should mark her last outing. I am sure that the Val de Vienne team will make a point of closing in the most beautiful way the career of a car that allowed it to win, among others, the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GT1 category in June. last, and a title of French GT champion in 2008… with a certain Patrick Bornhauser.
