Laurents Hörr is the strong man of the season ELMS in the LM P3 category. Author of four positions in five races, the German has a string of high-flying performances in this year 2021. This has not escaped the promoters of the WEC since he was chosen to drive in the Rookie Test in Bahrain on Sunday November 7, the day after the finale of the World Championship season. “I am extremely honored and for me it means a lot, because this day is something you cannot buy even with all the gold in the world, estimates the 24-year-old driver in the heat of Portimão. You can only get it as a gift, I am very happy and very excited to go to Bahrain. »

In the Algarve, the native of Gerlingen could obtain a fifth pole position in six races this season. “It’s not ELMS but I also have a pole position at Road to Le Mans This year ! (laughs) It's always good to get a pole but it's not racing. In qualifying, I give everything I have on a lap and that's just the key for me. I don't do anything magical. » The most important thing, however, remains Sunday, because Laurents Hörr knows full well that a victory on the hilly Portuguese circuit would be synonymous with the championship title for DKR Engineering and therefore an invitation to the LM P2 category for the 24 2022 Hours of Le Mans. It is also with this in mind that he has already carried out several tests in the higher category earlier in the season, with another planned for Tuesday October 26.

If crowned, it will be a third championship in a row for the German, two-time holder of the Michelin Le Mans Cup. “Honestly, I didn't realize that this could be my third championship title in a row. I had totally forgotten about that. Nevertheless, it would mean a lot because the ELMS represents another step in my career. »
