The 2012 ELMS calendar is revealed

The Le Mans Series will no longer welcome LMP1 next year following the creation of the World Championship.Endurance. The LMS thus changes its name by becoming the European Le Mans Series and will include five events in 2012 which will be preceded by the traditional test days at Paul-Ricard (March 9 and 10). The French circuit will open the season with the 6 Hours of Le Castellet which will take place from March 30 to April 1 before the discipline travels for the first time to Zolder in Belgium from May 18 to 20.

The teams will then travel to Great Britain from July 13 to 15 to compete in the Donington event, which makes its return in ELMS after five years of absence. After the summer break, the competitors will go to the Czech Republic from September 7 to 9 on the Brno circuit. The season will finally end with the 6 Hours of Portimao which will take place from November 2 to 4. The champions of the different categories will receive an invitation to the 24 2013 Hours of Le Mans.
