G-Drive Racing drives home the point with victory at the Red Bull Ring

The LM P2 category is dominated in this first half of the year by the team G Drive Racing. Winner at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) as well asat the 4 Hours of Monza (Italy, meanwhile confirmation of success at Le Mans), the Oreca 07-Gibson managed by TDS Racing won the 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring (Austria) with the trio Andrea Pizzitola, Jean-Éric Vergne and Roman Rusinov.

Qualified in fifth place, the prototype flying the Russian flag took the lead shortly before the final hour. The third round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) had in fact been dominated by Duqueine Engineering of Nicolas Jamin-Pierre Ragues-Nelson Panciatici, but finished second, 19 seconds behind the winners.

The team at the forefront of the ELMS during the first round, Racing Engineering, finished third despite a big offensive from Olivier Pla on his Oreca. IDEC Sport, author of pole position on Saturday, only finished fifth, notably after being the victim of a collision with the AVF by Adrian Valles Oreca.

In LM GTE class, Porsche easily won the event thanks to the 911 RSR of Gianluca Roda, Giorgio Roda and Matteo Cairoli. The Proton Compétition team is one lap ahead of its closest pursuer, the Ferrari 488 GTE by Duncan Cameron-Matt Griffin-Aaron Scott.
