The “Le Mans” aero kit will no longer be compulsory in ELMS

This is an important modification of the regulations that the ACO will make in ELMS, following on from the first round played last weekend in Barcelona.

With the aim of leveling performance between the future Hypercars and the current LM P2s, the promoter and organizer of the WEC and the ELMS had indicated that the LM P2 prototypes should use the aero kit “ Le Mans » (at low downforce), in addition to a power reduction of 50 kW.

Regulatory constraints which will be relaxed on the ELMS scene, since the aero kit for the La Sarthe round will no longer be compulsory. A decision taken after consultation with the various teams involved.

However, the use of this kit remains compulsory in WEC.
