Full of entrants for the Road To Le Mans 2019

For its fourth edition, Road To Le Mans, an event organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest in collaboration with its subsidiary Le Mans Endurance Management (promoter of the Michelin Le Mans Cup series), confirms its attractiveness.

Full of entrants for the Road To Le Mans 2019

Held as a preview of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019, Road To Le Mans (3rd round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup) will be able to count on a field of 50 crews, as rich as it is varied, with 17 GT3s and 33 LM P3s, including 34 from the Michelin Le Mans Cup and 12 from the European Le Mans Series. Also note the arrival of teams usually entered in the Asian Le Mans Series and the World Championship.Endurance (FIA WEC).

 

Among the cars entered, we can cite brands like Mercedes, Ferrari, Bentley, Lamborghini, Aston Martin or even Porsche in GT3, and of course Ligier and Norma, in LM P3. This combination of GT3 and LMP3 constitutes the Michelin Le Mans Cup, a series contested as part of the European Le Mans Series, for the rounds of Castellet, Monza, Barcelona, ​​Spa and Portimão.

Among the pilots, we will note the participation of Yann Erlacher, son of Cathy Muller and nephew of Yvan Muller, Freddie Hunt, son of James Hunt, world champion in F1 1976, as well as two riders wearing the colors of Frédéric Sausset's team, but also Jan Lammers, 24 participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and winner in 1988, already registered in 2016 for the first edition of Road To Le Mans.  

Road To Le Mans is based on two 55-minute races, contested Thursday and Saturday on the legendary 13,626 km circuit which hosts on June 15, a few hours after the 2nd round for the GT3s and LMP3s of Road To Le Mans, the 62 entered in the 24 2019 Hours of Le Mans. The notoriety of the event is an undeniable asset for Road To Le Mans and an opportunity for its participants to compete on a legendary track. For some, like Thomas Laurent, winner in 2016 of Road To Le Mans, who since then has never left the podium of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (in 2017 and 2018), it is a real springboard.   

To establish the official list of entrants for Road To Le Mans, both competitors registered for the entire Michelin Le Mans Cup season are included, automatically admitted, as well as guests, designated by a Selection Committee which gives priority to teams entered in Le Mans-type Endurance series (European Le Mans Series, Asian Le Mans Series, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship…).
