LMS: Abandonment of LMP1 from 2012

AUTOhebdo already announced to you after the 6 Hours of Imola that the LMP1s would no longer be on the starting grids of the LMS Championship from next season. The organizers have just confirmed the information, indicating that this decision was taken following the creation of the World Championship.Endurance by the ACO and the FIA.

The LMS will therefore only accommodate the LMP2 prototype categories. The organizers met with the teams in Imola to find out what their plans were for the following LMS season. It emerged that most teams would focus on the World Championship, abandoning the LMP1 category in LMS.
