Nicolas Lapierre (COOL Racing): “It’s frustrating”

Nicolas lapierre, can you explain to us what happened halfway through the race?

It was working well, everything was relatively under control until a right rear puncture. We had to return to the pits slowly, this added one more stop to us compared to the others and we lost a lot of time. The pace was good, we were in the game, the car was in the game, but we never managed to recover what we lost. It's frustrating because it's another race where we were in a position to win and we didn't even finish on the podium. 

What is this puncture caused by?

It's under investigation. Perhaps contact with the Inter Europol Competition. He (Fabio Scherer. Editor's note) pushed us twice, it wasn't very respectful or very smart. There were some nice battles, but this one was lame and not very honest.

You have shown your pace since the start of the season, but you have not been able to win. What are you missing to achieve this?

We try to do well. The car runs well. Niklas (Kruetten) and Yifei (Ye) are riding well. All the lights are green, but there is always something stopping us from performing. It's a bit of the story of the season. We really thought we had done the hardest part. The strategy was established and we were the fastest on track. This puncture makes us lose everything. It's frustrating.
