Nicolas Lapierre places Cool Racing on pole at Monza

Nicolas lapierre took pole position for the 4 Hours of Monza, driving the No. 07 Oreca 37 – Cool Racing. The Frenchman, with an LM P2 shod with Michelin rubber, completed his best lap on the Lombard autodrome in 1'34"967, remaining the only driver under the 1'35" per lap mark.

Norman Nato, replacing Jean-Eric Vergne in the No. 01 Aurus 26 – G-Drive Racing, failed by just over two tenths and placed himself as the best driver equipped with Dunlop tires. Paul-Loup Chatin (Oreca 07 n°28 – IDEC Sport) climbs into the leading trio, just a thousandth behind Nato.

The best Dallara P217 n°45 – Carlin, entrusted to Ben Barnicoat, finished 6th by six tenths, when the first Ligier JS P217, the n°22 – United Autosports of Filipe Albuquerque, took 10th position by more than a second.

The LM P2 session was neutralized 15″ from the checkered flag following the exit of Nico Jamin (Oreca 07 n°30 – Duqueine Engineering) at the exit of the Ascari Variant. The French driver was able to get out of his prototype, and the debates did not resume afterwards, validating Cool Racing's pole.

The LM P3 category was very lively in obtaining pole, with Lucas Légeret (Norma M30 n°19 – M Racing) finally taking pole in 1'44″017, after having seen his previous time canceled for exceeding the limits of the track.

Légeret leads Colin Noble (Norma M30 n°7 – Nielsen Racing) by 0 and Damiano Fioravanti (Norma M207 n°30 – Oregon Racing) by more than three tenths.

In GTE, Porsche signe le doublé grâce à Matteo Cairoli (Porsche 911 RSR n°77 – Dempsey-Proton Racing) auteur d’un meilleur temps en 1’46″351, 422 millièmes devant Jörg Bergmeister (Porsche 911 RSR n°56 – Team Project1).

The two German GTEs largely dominated the session, rejecting the first pursuer, the Ferrari 488 GTE n°55 – Spirit of Race by Matt Griffin more than a second away.
