The crew ofUnited Autosports is fully booked for the European Le Mans Series. And the trio of the team founded by Zak Brown and Richard Dean has more than 80 races and 20 podiums: the American Jim McGuire, and the two British Guy Smith and Paul Di Resta.

The first is promoted to a team that he knows well and with which he has competed in several championships: WeatherTech SportsCar (in 2021 and 2022) in LM P2, the Asian Le Mans Series (2018, 2019 and 2020) and the European Le Mans Series (2020 and 2021) in LM P3.

« I am very happy to be promoted to LM P2 for the European Le Mans Series with United Autosports, enthuses the pilot. Having the chance to ride alongside two champions like Paul and Guy is a fantastic opportunity, and I'm sure we will have a great year. I can't wait to come back to United and get back on the track. » A logical extension for team director and former racing driver Richard Dean: “ Jim is an integral part of our team. This will be our eighth season together, and we are sure there will be more great moments and memories to come. Jim, Guy and Paul are all good friends, good drivers, and we will give everything to finish on the podium this year. »

And for the upcoming campaign, the American is well supported.

He has already driven with Guy Smith, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2003), during the last two seasons in IMSA. Brought together for five races, the pair notably scored a podium at the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen (United States). A duo who also officiated in 2022 for the Race of Le Mans: “ Jim continues to develop and from what I have seen he is shining in these LM P2 cars, observes the 48-year-old pilot who announces having “ very excited to drive with United Autosports in the European Le Mans Series ", he who has " really enjoyed being with the team ».

« Paul is at his best, continues Smith about the third driver in the crew, Paul Di Resta. I've known him for a long time, but I've never ridden with him, so I'm looking forward to it. I hope we can get some podiums and fight for the championship. » A plausible hope with the experience of the native of West Lothian (Scotland). In the Asian Le Mans Series, Di Resta has 6 races, as many podiums, including 3 victories. His participations in WEC are just as successful, with 7 podiums including 5 victories in 12 races. During the 2019 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the driver was in 4th place, still with United.

« Very happy to be part of the team again, keeping continuity between the Asian Le Mans Series and the European championship with Jim, declares the champion of DTM 2010, associated with McGuire during the four meetings in ALMS next month. Continuing this partnership, alongside my WEC obligations, with United was an easy decision to make. It keeps me in shape, ready to succeed as best I can, and hopefully have fun on the road. thanks to Peugeot to give me this opportunity, let's make 2023 a success », concludes the former reserve driver of the team F1 Williams (2017)
