Quifel ASM abandons the LMS Championship

The Zytek 09SC of Olivier Pla and Miguel Amaral has not shone since the start of the season. The Quifel ASM team only occupies third place in the LMS Championship with only nine points scored.

Faced with these disappointing results, the team decided to suspend its program by canceling its entry to the 6 Hours of Silverstone (September 9 to 11) and the 6 Hours of Estoril (September 23 to 25). The Zytek 09S has indeed suffered from recurring reliability problems since the start of the season.

After winning the LMP2 title in 2009 with the same crew, Quifel ASM turned to the LMP1 category in 2011. But the performances did not live up to the team's expectations. The No. 20 had only finished eighth at the 6 Hours of Le Castellet, before experiencing two successive retirements at the 1000km of Spa-Francorchamps and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team had already given up on competing in the 6 Hours of Imola last July.
