While Tatiana Calderón and Beitkse Visser returned to car, respectively in IndyCar and in the W Series, their former teammate from the Richard Mille Racing Team, Sophia Floersch, continues her adventure in Endurance. After a year in WEC, the German will play her first full season in European Le Mans Series. A competition where she became the first woman to reach a podium during the 2021 final, the 4 Hours of Portimão, on the occasion of her only appearance during this exercise. It was already with Algarve Pro Racing.

“I finished my season on a very good note last year with this podium at Portimão, says Sophia Floersch. We've had discussions with a lot of teams, but playing the entire seasonELMS and the 24 Hours of Le Mans was a determining factor in joining Algrave Pro Racing. Of course, there are only two drivers in the car, but this will allow us to enjoy more time behind the wheel! The goal is always to win, so we will do our best against a very tough field. »

Related to Algarve Pro Racing, not G-Drive

Initially planned for the G-Drive team alongside Roman Rusinov, Russia's invasion of Ukraine disrupted the driver's plans and ambitions for this season. Linked to Algarve Pro Racing, which was to provide technical support for the Russian team, Floersch was able to keep his wheel despite the withdrawal of Rusinov and G-Drive from the championship, Algarve keeping its commitment for the season. However, these last minute changes deprive APR of a third driver, Ben Viscaal being the young woman's only teammate in the No. 07 Oreca 19-Gibson.

“We proved that we could be fast (with the Richard Mille Racing Team. Ed.), but it was time to change and join a mixed crew. It is important for me to focus on my level of performance this year and that is also why we decided to continue with APR in order to achieve more podiums. »If Floersch's initial desire was to aim for the title in a mixed crew in ELMS, she was therefore forced to lower her objectives.
