A first for the Frédéric Sausset Industry at Road To Le Mans

This is an important step in the road plan that the Filière Frédéric Sausset by SRT41 has set, namely a commitment to 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020 for a crew with a disability.

Also to achieve this objective, the team opted in 2019 for participation in Road To Le Mans, on June 13 and 15, as a preamble to the 87th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the Ligier JS P3-Nissan n° 84 which will be shared by Takuma Aoki (Japan), Snoussi Ben Moussa (France) and Nigel Bailly (Belgium).

Two 55-minute races on the legendary 13,626 km circuit are on the program, valuable training with a view to 2020 for Frédéric Sausset's team which, after piloting his machine in 2016, will now be in control of its racing structure.

“The integration of difference continues in high-level motorsport which, I remind you, remains one of the rare sports to allow people with disabilities to compete with able-bodied people, comments Frédéric Sausset.

It is for me immense pride to be at the head of the first structure in the world to allow high-level drivers with disabilities to participate in such competitions, among the best drivers on the planet.

The Frédéric SAUSSET by SRT41 Network perfectly follows the objective that was set after our 2016 exploit, I would particularly like to thank Pierre Fillon, Vincent Beaumesnil and Gérard Neveu for believing in us. It’s now up to us not to disappoint them, and see you during the crazy week of Le Mans 2019 with our number 84”

“The 24 Hours of Le Mans and the ACO aim to be a research and development laboratory, intended for progress, in all areas, in the automobile and more generally in mobility, explains Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest.

In 2016, the ACO had the joy and pride of welcoming and supporting Frédéric Sausset in his challenge of competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. From the stand 56 operation, outside the classification, perfectly successful in 2016, we are today working with a racing team and drivers with disabilities, entered in competition, in Road To Le Mans, next June.

What a long way to go. Congratulations to Frédéric Sausset and his team. May they be assured of the support of the ACO. It is essential to help make motorsport accessible to all enthusiasts. »
