For a long time, we believed that G-Drive Racing would be able to put an end to the insolent domination exercised by United Autosports over the 2020 season.ELMS. But four minutes after taking the lead of the race to the detriment of Filipe Albuquerque, three after the track was declared wet, Mikkel Jensen made a mistake, while there were 55 minutes of racing remaining.

Excellent so far, the Dane put an end to the hopes of victory for the Aurus 01 n°26 and his teammate Roman Rusinov. A boon for United Autosports, which scored its second success in a row, this time thanks to the No. 07 Oreca 22 of Filipe Albuquerque-Phil Hanson.

Under the checkerboard, the Portuguese and her British sidekick are almost a minute ahead of the No. 07 Oreca 39 of Graff, which takes its revenge on destiny after losing its second place on the green carpet at the end of the 4 Hours. du Castellet. In the final laps, Thomas Laurent – ​​who teams up with Alex Cougnaud and James Allen – resisted heroically despite dying tires on the return of Will Stevens (Panis Racing) and Tristan Gommendy (Duqueine Team).

The latter, who had just stolen 3rd place from his British rival, spun a few dozen meters from the finish after suffering a puncture on the right rear. Panis Racing and its trio Julien Canal-Nico Jamin-Will Sevens therefore recovered a well-deserved third place, however.

The leading fifth is completed by Duqueine Team (Tristan Gommendy-Konstantin Terschenko-Jonathan Hirschi) and the second 07 from United Autosports. Well launched, the latter suffered a stop & go after Will Owen sent the unfortunate Claudi Schiavoni, registered on the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo n°60 from Iron Lynx.

In LM P3, a competitor for victory was knocked offside in the first laps of the race, the Ligier JS P320 n°13 of Inter Europol Competition entrusted to Nigel Moore-Martin Hippe finishing in the tire piles, loaded by the No. 08 Nielsen Racing Duqueine D10 in distress.

Victory, as at Castellet, went to the #320 JS P2 of Wayne Boyd-Tom Gamble-Robert Wheldon, which completes the triumph of United Autosports. The 100% British trio precedes the #08 D7 entered by Nielsen Racing for Anthony Wells-Colin Noble and the #320 Eurointernational JS P11 driven by Thomas Erdos-Niko Kari-Andreas Laskaratos.

Finally, in GTE, the Porsche 911 RSR n°77 of the Proton Competition spun 59′ from the goal while it was comfortably in the lead of its class. Alessio Picariello, then at the wheel, suffered a puncture.

Kessel Racing took the opportunity to claim victory thanks to the No. 488 Ferrari 74 GTE Evo of David Perel-Marcos Gomes-Michael Broniszewski. The Swiss entity precedes the arrival of another Ferrari, the No. 88 fielded by AF Corse for François Perrodo-Emmanuel Collard-Harrison Newey, who is not participating in the entirety of the campaign, just like theAston Martin Vantage AMR n°98 of Paul Dalla Lana-Augusto Farfus-Mathias Lauda, ​​third this afternoon.

The next round of the ELMS is scheduled for August 29, at Le Castellet.
