Vaxivière and TDS on pole at Monza (UPDATE)

Interrupted by a first red flag, the qualifying session for the 4 Hours of Monza, second round of theELMS, was restarted 2'47 from the goal, leaving the various protagonists just a short lap to set their time. So at the top of the hierarchy, as if he was sure of his move, Matthieu Vaxivière escaped from the No. 07 Oreca 33 of TDS Racing. The sequel will prove him right.

Indeed, the session will not be able to come to an end due to the exit of Ate Jong (Ligier JS P217 n°25 from Algarve Pro Racing) and the Frenchman will keep the advantage thanks to a lap completed in 1'35"456. Enough to make your teammates smile Loïc duval and François Perrodo as well as his employer, TDS Racing, who traveled to Italy in order to prepare the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The top five is monopolized by Oreca, followed in the ranking by the n°21 of DragonSpeed (Ben Hanley), the n°31 of APR – Rebellion Racing (Gustavo Menezes), the n°29 of Duqueine Engineering (Nelson Panciatici) and the n°26 of G-Drive Racing (Jean-Eric Vergne). The latter did not have the opportunity to improve his time due to the second red flag.

The first Ligier, the No. 22 United Autosports driven by Filipe Albuquerque, is sixth at 0 seconds, just ahead of the No. 9 AVF by Adrian Vallés Dallara P217 driven by Konstantin Tereschenko.

UPDATE: However, a few hours later, we learned of the decommissioning of Oreca 07 n°33 and n°31, respectively first and third in qualifications, both declared non-compliant with the technical regulations.

Plagued by mechanical problems during the opening round at Paul-Ricard, the Ultimate team shows that it will have to be counted on this year. At the wheel of the No. 30 Norma M17, Matthieu Lahaye took pole position for the LM P3 in 1’45”386. The Frenchman, who teams up with his brother Jean-Baptiste and François Hériau, precedes by 0"2 the Norman n°19 entered by M. Racing-YMR for Droux-Ferrer-Légeret, and the Ligier JS P3 n°9 and n #2 of AT Racing (M. Jensen-A. Talkanitsa Jr-A. Talkanitsa Sr) and United Autosports (A. Wells-G. Grist-M. Bell).

In GTE, little surprise, since it is not one of the two Porsche 911 RSRs lined up by Proton Competition which took pole position, but that of Ebimotors. At the wheel of the No. 80, Riccardo Perra set a time of 1'47"493. The Italian, who is supported by Fabio Babini and Raymond Narac, has the luxury of being 0 ahead of his compatriot and official driver of the Zuffenhausen firm Gianmaria Bruni, who shares the wheel with the Roda father and son. The top three is completed by the Ferrari 488 GTE n°55 of Spirit of Race driven by Duncan Cameron-Matt Griffin-Aaron Scott.

The race, visible live on AUTOhebdo.fr, will launch tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
