The #015 Gibson 38S – Nissan driven by the trio Simon Dolan, Filipe Albuquerque and Harry Tincknell was the fastest in the first free practice session on the Silverstone track in England, the scene of the opening of the 'ELMS 2015. With a best lap established in 1’49″826, the Jota Sport crew is ahead of another Gibson 015S, that of Graeves Motorsport, entrusted to Hirsch – Wirdheim – Lancaster. Behind this duo, we find the pair of Oreca 03s racing under the AF Corse banner, and the sister car of Murphy Prototypes, where Frenchman Nathanaël Berthon is notably lined up.
The LM GTE category saw the domination of the AF Corse formation, with both Ferrari 458 Italia n°81 (Wyatt – Rugol – Aguas) and n°51 (Mann – Gianmaria – Cressoni) at the forefront in front of the BMW Z4 from Marc VDS of the Hassid – Priaulx – Krohn trio. TDS Racing with the BMW Z4 of Eric Dermont, Frank Perera and Dino Lunardi took the lead in GTC while the LM P3 was dominated by the Ginetta-Nissan from the University of Bolton team.
