Like yesterday in EL1, the Panis-Barthez Compétition Ligier JS P2 entrusted to the Chatin – Buret – Barthez trio dominated the second free practice session for the 4 Hours of Imola, second round of the European Le Mans 2016 Series. The LM P2 of the team of Fabien Barthez and Olivier Panis was the fastest with a reference time established in 1'33″881 and ahead of the Krohn Racing sister car of Jönsson – Pla – Wirdheim by 240 thousandths. The DragonSpeed Oreca 05 Stone – Hedman – Hanley completes the top three of the session in 1’34″485.
In LM P3, the Ligier JS P3 from the Villorba Corse team of Sernagiotto – Lacorte – Schiro dominated these second runs in 1'40″349. The JS P3 no. 19 of the Duqueine Engineering of Hallyday – Droux – Lunardi and the no. 16 of the Panis-Barthez Compétition of Debard – Moineault – Gachet climbed into the top 3.
La Ferrari 458 Italia du JMW Motorsport de Smith – Butcher – Bertolini a enchaîné en GTE en signant un nouveau meilleur temps en 1’41″870. La Porsche 911 RSR n°88 du Proton Competition de Roda – Bachler – Ried et la F458 Italia AF Corse de Cameron – Griffin – Scott suivent au classement.
Qualifying will begin at 13:50 p.m. with the GTE category cars.
