After leaving the Formula 1, Mika Salo has built up a very interesting track record in GT2, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2008 and 2009, and winning the ALMS champion crown in 2007. All on a Ferrari, Of course. Little seen behind the wheel this season, the 46-year-old Finn will be there this weekend at Castellet, on the occasion of the final round of the European Le Mans Series. The native of Helsinki was requisitioned by SMP Racing to support the Russians Boris Rotenberg and Anton Ladygin in the No. 458 Ferrari 3 Italia GT72 entered in GTC.
