New event on the calendar ELMS, the 4 Hours of Barcelona (July 20) will begin late in the afternoon in Catalonia, with a kickoff given at 18:30 p.m. and an arrival scheduled for nightfall.
“We wanted to make this event even more attractive for Spanish fans and more comfortable for our teams, comments Gérard Neveu, director of the ELMS. The weather is hot in July, so moving the race to Saturday evening will be better for fans and competitors, especially drivers.
Seeing the race finish after dark will make the 4 Hours of Barcelona unique in the ELMS calendar. We are looking forward to returning to Barcelona after many years of absence. »
The 2019 European season Le Mans Series begins this weekend with the 4 Hours of Paul Ricard.
