The outcome of the 2022 European season Le Mans Series (ELMS) approximate ! Ahead of the penultimate event, the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), the authorities of the endurance competition have revealed the field which will be at the start on the Walloon route. 41 cars (16 LM P2, 13 LM P3 and 12 LM GTE) will take part in the Belgian meeting, which could already be decisive for the titles at stake.

LM P2 – 16 cars and 46 drivers at Spa-Francorchamps

After winning their third victory of the season in Barcelona, ​​Louis Deletraz and Ferdinand Habsburg will be joined in the No. 9 Prema Racing car by American Juan Manuel Correa, who replaces Lorenzo Colombo. Deletraz and Habsburg (85 points) are 21 points ahead in the drivers' championship over the No. 65 Panis Racing trio made up of Job Van Uitert, Julien Canal and Nico Jamin (64 points). If they finish at least five points ahead of their French rivals, they will win the driver and team titles at Spa-Francorchamps.

The No. 22 United Autosports (48 pts), the No. 28 IDEC Sport (47 pts) and the No. 37 COOL Racing (44 pts) also have a chance to fight for the 2022 titles… but we will have to count on a bad weekend from the two teams at the top of the championship.

Change of driver also in car n°19 of the Algarve Pro Racing team and in car n°34 of Racing Team Turkey. Sophia Floersch will be replaced by Romanian driver Filip Ugran and Jack Aitken will not be in Belgium to race alongside Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood in the championship-leading LMP2 Pro-Am car. Aitken's replacement will be announced by the team at a later date.

LM P3 – 13 cars and 36 drivers

The fight for the LMP3 title couldn't be closer, with Monza and Barcelona winners Charles Crews, Guilherme Oliveira and Nico Pino in the No. 13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier closing the gap to just five points behind the COOL Racing n°17 ​​of Malthe Jakobsen, Michael Benham and Maurice Smith, championship leader.

The No. 5 car from the RLR MSport team of Alex Kapadia, Michael Jensen and Nick Adcock is only 12 points behind the COOL Racing crew and 7 points behind the No. 6 car of the team 360 Racing by Terrence Woodward and Ros Kaiser. The Belgian attraction on the LMP3 grid will be Tom Van Rompuy, who races for DKR Engineering, the reigning ELMS champion team. The local head to Spa for his domestic race after finishing second in Spain alongside teammates Alexander Bukhantsov and Sebastian Alvarez.

LM GTE – 12 cars and 36 drivers, Pin with the Iron Dames

Note the presence of Dorian Pin with the Iron Dames team for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, as announced by AUTOhebdo a few days ago. The Frenchwoman will be accompanied by Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting. The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps constitutes the 5th round of the 2022 European Le Mans Series and will take place on Sunday September 25.
