5 ans après, Kondo Racing retrouve la pole en Super GT ! La Nissan n°24, pilotée par Kohei Hirate et Daiki Sasaki, a été la plus rapide sur le circuit d’Autopolis. Pour Sasaki, c’est aussi une première pole position en carrière dans la compétition. Les trois constructeurs sont représentés dans le Top 3 puisqu’on retrouve la Honda n°100 du Team Kunimitsu en 2e place et la Toyota n°19 du Team WedsSport Bandoh en 3e position.
Diverse fortunes on the French side, however. The No. 36 Toyota of Giuliano Alesi and Sho Tsuboi was in the running for pole position for a long time, but was not in the ideal position to complete its final timed lap. First on the track, the Frenchman did not take advantage of the evolution of the track and had to settle for 8th place in the standings. Penalized by 4 places on the grid, Alesi will start from 12th place. For Sacha Fenestraz, on the other hand, the qualifications did not go his way at all.
