5 years later, Kondo Racing regains pole in Super GT! The #24 Nissan, driven by Kohei Hirate and Daiki Sasaki, was the fastest on the Autopolis circuit. For Sasaki, it is also a first career pole position in the competition. The three manufacturers are represented in the Top 3 since we find the Honda n°100 of Team Kunimitsu in 2nd place and the Toyota n°19 of Team WedsSport Bandoh in 3rd position.

Diverse fortunes on the French side, however. The No. 36 Toyota of Giuliano Alesi and Sho Tsuboi was in the running for pole position for a long time, but was not in the ideal position to complete its final timed lap. First on the track, the Frenchman did not take advantage of the evolution of the track and had to settle for 8th place in the standings. Penalized by 4 places on the grid, Alesi will start from 12th place. For Sacha Fenestraz, on the other hand, the qualifications did not go his way at all. Victim of an error in his fast lap, the TOM'S driver will have to start from last place for the race on Sunday. A bad move in terms of the championship…
