The FFSA confirmed in its latest press release the third place of Thierry Neuville. The Belgian therefore completes the podium of the Tour de Corse behind Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) and Ott Tänak (Toyota), falling 17 points behind before the Rally Argentina contested on the weekend of April 29.

Ogier on the L’Équipe channel: “It’s always magical to win here. We have had a very good start to the season with this 3rd victory in 4 races. Everything worked perfectly this weekend. We managed to quickly build a good lead. We have the feeling of having really progressed on both types of surfaces. This is promising for the rest of the season. The Tour de Corse is always demanding, whether for the drivers or co-drivers, especially with these new special stages. But the courses were magnificent and the weather was good. We're already looking forward to next year. We are starting to know the refrain of sweeping (in Argentina). It will be difficult to negotiate, but we remain hopeful of being successful. You must never start as a loser, I aim for victory at each rally. Maybe the weather will help us if it's wet. We'll see. Although I never imposed myself there, I still often performed well. I don't know if the competition is tougher because it was already very close last year and the gaps remain very close this season. I think I'm more liberated than the others because I no longer need to prove something, but others are pushing very hard, like Tänak who took a nice 2nd place. I have a lot of respect for Loeb. He was still very fast this weekend despite his exit. he would still be at the forefront if he had the motivation to return full time. »
Here are the detailed rankings at the Championships, but these results remain provisional due to the uncertainty surrounding Neuville:

Neuville is not sure he will be able to return to Ajaccio due to his mechanical problems. “We hope to be able to reach the finish line to score points for the team. »
If Neuville retires, Sordo would complete the podium ahead of Evans and Lappi. The gap would widen very clearly in the Drivers' Championship.
Here are the provisional rankings for the Drivers' and Manufacturers' Championships:

Esapekka Lappi won the Power Stage by completing the 16,25km Coti – Chiavari Penitentiary in 9'41''2 with a 2''2 lead over Sébastien Loeb. Ogier takes the 3 points from the Power Stage at the expense of Meeke who has to settle for two bonus points.
Ogier finished tied with Meeke by setting the 3rd fastest time, 3″4 behind Tänak’s scratch. This is his second victory at the Tour de Corse after that of 2016.
