Uncertainties surrounding the performance ofAlpine A110 Pikes Peak were swept away. Sunday, Raphaël Astier achieved a time beyond expectations in the French clan, with a time of 9'17″412, enough to secure a podium in the first participation ofAlpine on the American hill race.

The Ardéchois, who already had great experience in Colorado having participated in 4 editions – with a record in the Time Attack 1 category in 2019 in 9'23″721 – was delighted by his attempt aboard the A110.

“Here I am at the top of the summit, it was a good attempt with theAlpine which worked wonderfully! I gave everything and I am very satisfied because I am improving my personal time that I had achieved with the Porsche », underlines the French driver, who was 6 seconds faster than his previous record.

“It’s second place in the Open category behind Romain Dumas, so it’s not nothing. But above all, it's 3rd place overall so it's really cool. I thank the entire Signatech team and Alpine who have done a huge job throughout these weeks, I am super happy for all of us. »
