There will be a completely new division for the 2024 edition of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The century-old hill climb, organized since 1916 on the Pikes Peak mountain in Colorado (United States), will welcome a new category next year for the 102nd edition of the American event. Alongside the “Unlimited”, “Time Attack 1” and “Open Wheel” divisions, a GT4 category will appear in 2024. This new division will be managed in partnership with Stéphane Ratel Organization (SRO), and all the cars entered will run with Yokohama Advan tires.

This category will replace the already existing division of “ Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama”, which was then exclusively reserved for Porsche Cayman GT4s. A way to open the door to other manufacturers. Alpine, for example, chose to modify its A110 GT4 Evo to participate in the race in 2023… but is forced to enter the Time Attack 1 category.

“The GT4 platform occupies an important place in today's motorsport world, and we are thrilled to be a part of it, said Melissa Eickhoff, executive director of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy expands our efforts to a larger number of entries for future editions of the Pikes Peak, and we hope it will attract many hill climb drivers for the first time to the mountain in the years to come . »
