Formula 3 is a one-make championship, meaning that all drivers use the same Dallara chassis powered by a 6L naturally aspirated V3,4 engine supplied by Mecachrome and equipped, among other things, with a system of Halo protection.

Formula 3 qualifying and races are broadcast on CANAL+ (CANAL+ SPORT, CANAL+ SPORT 360), the official broadcaster of promotional formulas in France. All sessions are also available on Liberty Media's F1 TV platform.

All Formula 3 meetings take place ahead of a Formula 1 Grand Prix to allow young up-and-comers to practice their skills under the eyes of decision-makers in the F1 paddock and to learn the circuits they could be required to attend. face at the next level. An F3 weekend only includes one free practice session before qualifying. Each round has two races: a Sprint, which takes place on Saturday and whose grid is semi-reversed (we take the qualifying ranking and reverse the order of the first 10), and a Main Race, longer and which requires drivers to change tires.

Gabriel Bortoleto was crowned Formula 3 champion in 2023 with Trident. The Brazilian was logically promoted to FIA Formula 2 where he defends the colors of the Invicta Racing team. He also joined the McLaren young driver pipeline.
